  • Test paper practice sessions are set in class under exam conditions in the final part of the Year 5 Course.
  • Holiday homework, to continue familiarity and practice, is set on a scheduled homework programme during Year 5.
  • Susan Daughtrey Education 11+ Courses in Buckinghamshire begin with the Foundation Course (available as 36, 30 or 17 weeks in duration).
  • All Foundation Course classes (whether 36, 30 or 17 weeks) end in October (when your child will be in Year 5 at school).
  • The Year 5 Course then commences the following week (meaning there is no gap) and runs all the way up to the actual Buckinghamshire 11+ tests the following September.

Year 4 11+ Foundation Course

  • Initial Assessments begin the Course, setting a baseline and pinpointing areas of relative strength and weakness.
  • The curriculum is built on a foundation of structured lesson plans and materials, all originating from Susan Daughtrey MEd.
  • Each week during term time, students engage in 1 hour and 30 minutes of tuition, spanning either 36, 30 or 17 weeks depending on the duration chosen.
  • Interactive Hybrid Classroom technology at the SDE Tuition Centre in Beaconsfield ensures uninterrupted learning in the event your child cannot attend a class in-person.
  • Weekly, pre-recorded video tutorials are available, offering detailed coverage of lesson content; these are useful for recap/revision purposes and enhancing parental understanding.
  • Homework assignments are distributed weekly in the Prep Bag, which is included in the Course fee.
  • An Online Record Table facilitates the tracking of test and homework outcomes, offering valuable insights and comparative data.
  • A team of experienced teachers, all committed to the success of students in the 11+ exams.
  • Class sizes are kept small, capped at a maximum of 12 regular students, to ensure the teacher can provide personalised support to each individual student.

Year 5 11+ Course

  • The Year 5 11+ Course, designed for students in Year 5 at school, begins with four initial assessments in English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
  • Course content, including lesson plans and materials, have been developed by Susan Daughtrey MEd.
  • Students receive 2 hours of weekly tuition across 32 lessons, enriched by 2 'Mini Mock' sessions (2 1/2 hours each) for a total of 34 weeks, with the Mini Mocks in January and March aimed at gently introducing your child to formal 11+ exam conditions early in the process and also to help monitor progress during the Course.
  • GL-style SDE 11+ Mock Exam Session A is included as part of the Course fee, with the option to add more 11+ Mock Exam sessions for extensive practice.
  • Interactive Hybrid Classroom technology at the SDE 11+ Tuition Centre in Beaconsfield ensures uninterrupted learning if your child is unable to attend a class in-person.

SDE 11+ Year 5 Course

SDE Summer 11+ Course

for GL Assessment® 11+ candidates in Year 5 at school
  • Week-long intensive 'Revision and Testing' Course offered for GL Assessment 11+ candidates who have not attended the weekly SDE Year 5 11+ Course.
  • Course features 20 hours of teaching across five days, with each day spanning 4½ hours including breaks.
  • Classes scheduled across five weeks during school summer holidays at Amersham, Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross and Langley venues.
  • Each class is capped at 12 students to ensure personalised attention.
  • Instruction by fully qualified teachers experienced in preparing students for the 11+ exams.
  • Support from an Administrative Classroom Assistant for in-class test marking, enabling the teacher to focus on teaching and support the students.
