11+ Mock Exams For Reading Boys' 11+ Candidates

The test papers for SDE's FSCE-style 11+ Mock Exam Paper Sets have been written by SDE under the guidance of Susan Daughtrey MEd, the 11+ tutor and author, to help students who are preparing to write the Reading School (Reading Boys) 11+ tests by FSCE.

Spring 2025 update: following the publication of the Familiarisation Guides on 25th April 2025, SDE's 11+ Mock Exams are being rewritten so as to give this year's Reading Boys' 11+ candidates the best possible practice and preparation for the new 2025 format of testing.

What Features Are Included?

  • We offer six 11+ Mock Exam Paper Sets (B-G). Each letter denotes a unique set of test questions.
  • At each 11+ Mock Exam Paper Set we will emulate, as far as reasonably practicable, your son's most likely experience on the day of the real FSCE 11+ tests, covering all KS2 subjects listed in the Familiarisation Guide on the school's website and Creativity.
  • There will be four papers: two Multiple-Choice papers, a short written response paper and a written Creativity paper. There will be a short break between the first paper (which is longer) and the remaining three (which are shorter).
  • SDE's test papers contain questions which Susan Daughtrey MEd expects to be of a similar style and level of difficulty to the questions on the real FSCE 11+ tests. New test papers are being written for 2025 to reflect the new test format being used by the school.
  • The venues have been carefully appraised by SDE and found to be suitable for 11+ Mock Exams.
  • The venues feature free off-street parking (subject to availability).

What Feedback Can I Expect?

  • We use Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) technology to ensure quick and accurate marking of answer sheets, allowing for prompt dissemination of results.
  • A Record Table is provided, detailing your son's scores in each section of the tests, along with his total and combined scores for each test and all three tests. This also includes the group average, offering a helpful comparison.
  • List of Scores – this list contains the anonymised scores of the students who have completed the same tests.
  • Feedback will be provided via a secure parent login to the SDE website. For the multiple choice and short written response papers, you will have access to the questions your son answered incorrectly along with the actual answer he gave and the correct answer he should have given, allowing you to identify and address any areas of weakness.
  • The Creativity task is marked by an SDE Course teacher with extensive experience preparing students for the 11+ exams. A scanned copy of your son's written work, together with suggested corrections and a feedback summary will also be provided.

  • The Forest School, Robin Hood Lane, Winnersh, RG41 5NE

  • 2 Paper Sets – £170 (save £10)
  • 3 Paper Sets – £240 (save £30)
  • 4 Paper Sets – £300 (save £60)
  • 5 Paper Sets – £350 (save up to £100)
  • 5 or more Paper Sets - £70 each

The prices above include a £10 supplement as this format of SDE 11+ Mock Exam includes a creative writing assignment. To take advantage of multiple-exam discounts, you must make all bookings for the same child and in the same year. You have the option to combine Mock Exams from different venues into one convenient order.

Booking and Changes:

Spring 2025 update: In light of the changes to the Reading School FSCE tests this year all SDE bookings for Mock Exams on this page will be handled fully flexible this year. This means you can make as many changes to your bookings as you like (subject to availability) and if you do not wish your son to attend any Mock Exams that you have booked for him, please let us know in advance by email to office@sde11plus.com and we will cancel his sitting(s) and issue a full refund to your payment card.
