11+ MOCK EXAMS

At SDE we enable parents to choose from a wide range of 11+ Mock Exams covering many areas and schools. The exam format, subjects, types of question and number of questions within the Mock Exam may vary according to the 11+ Mock Exam style so it is important your child sits the appropriate Mocks to ensure the most relevant and targeted Mock Exam practise for their 11+.

11+ Buckinghamshire Mock Exams

• Emulates the style of the real GL Assessment® Buckinghamshire 11+ tests.
• Two papers: Paper 1, Verbal Reasoning (comprehension, cloze, proof reading & verbal reasoning) and Paper 2, Non-Verbal Reasoning & Maths.
• 45 minutes of questions per paper, multiple choice, audio administration.

11+ Slough Consortium Mock Exams

• Mimics the style of the real GL Assessment® Slough Consortium 11+ tests.
• Two papers: Paper 1, Verbal Reasoning (comprehension, cloze, proof reading & verbal reasoning) and Paper 2, Non-Verbal Reasoning & Maths.
• 45 minutes per paper, multiple choice, audio administration.

11+ SW Herts Consortium Mock Exams

• Replicates the style of the real GL Assessment® SW Herts Consortium 11+ tests.
• Two papers: Paper 1, Verbal Reasoning; Paper 2: Maths.
• Verbal Reasoning paper: 80 questions in 50 minutes & Maths paper: 60 questions in 50 minutes* (*previously 50 questions in 50 minutes).
• Multiple choice, traditional timed exam with no audio administration.

11+ Henrietta Barnett Mock Exams

• Prepares girls for the Stage 1 Henrietta Barnett tests by GL Assessment®.
• One test paper: Verbal, Non-Verbal Reasoning, and English (no Maths).
• 90 minutes, multiple choice format.

11+ Latymer School Mock Exams

• Designed especially for candidates preparing for the Latymer School 11+ entrance tests.
• Multiple-choice Maths and Verbal Reasoning test in the GL Assessment® style and a separate written English test compromising comprehension and creative writing (the real English test is written in-house by The Latymer School and we have adopted a similar format).
• 60 minutes per test.

11+ Reading School Mock Exams

• Simulates the real English, Maths, and Creative Writing tests in the FCSE-style.
• Three separate papers: multiple-choice, free response and Creative Writing.
• Audio administration.
• The creative writing test is marked by a qualified English teacher with extensive experience marking SDE 11+ and often also official exam scripts.

11+ Kendrick School Mock Exams

• Replicates the style of the real GL Assessment® Kendrick 11+ tests.
• Two papers: Verbal Reasoning & English and Non-Verbal Reasoning & Maths.
• 45 minutes per paper, multiple choice, audio administration.

QE Boys' School Mock Exams

• Devised especially for boys preparing for the Queen Elizabeth School 11+ entrance tests.
• Two papers: Maths & English tests (GL Assessment-style).
• 50 minutes per paper, multiple choice, traditional timing with no audio administration.

Susan Daughtrey 11+ Dynamic Video Tuition® is designed to target your child’s individual learning needs. For each question your child answers incorrectly on the tests our bespoke online software (accessed via your secure parent login to the SDE website) will provide you with access to:

• A copy of the question answered incorrectly;
• Your child’s wrong answer selection;
• A link to a short video tutorial, devised and narrated by Susan Daughtrey M.Ed or another SDE Tutor, which can be streamed from home and which includes the following:
  • The test question number, test question and multiple-choice answer options that appeared on the question paper;
  • Where relevant (e.g. for VR questions), an explanation of the technique or method that Susan Daughtrey recommends your child uses to answer the question;
  • Where relevant (e.g. for Maths questions), working out is shown on screen in a step-by-step fashion, with SDE explaining the process we recommend your child should follow to answer the question correctly; and
  • Finally, the correct answer is shown on screen (this can also be revealed separately if you don’t wish to use the video tutorial, for example if it is apparent your child has the necessary subject knowledge to answer the question but made a mistake).

Feedback is provided via a secure parent login to the SDE website. This feedback includes:

• A Letter to Parents providing information about the tests.
• A Record Table™ which shows your child’s score in each element of the test papers, a total score for each test and a combined score for the tests. Next to your child’s scores, we also provide the group average score to help you identify your child’s strengths and weaknesses, relative to the other candidates (there are usually many other students to compare your child’s results to as the Paper Sets are extremely popular).
• Lists of Scores – these lists contain the scores of all students who have ever sat each set of test papers and, for our most popular Mock Exam formats, is probably the most comprehensive 11+ Mock Exam comparative data available anywhere.
• Access to the unique and innovative Susan Daughtrey 11+ Dynamic Video Tuition® service detailed above, so you can see exactly which questions your child answered incorrectly and your child has the benefit of SDE's explanation of how best to answer the question.
