Qualifications: BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences and MSc in International Management from King’s College London, PGCE in Primary Education and Masters in Teaching from UCL Institute of Education
Teaching Experience: Qualified teacher since 2001 (23 years)
Role: Member (partner) of SDE (Tuition) LLP
My 22 years of teaching experience spans across Reception to Year 7 in the public and private sectors of education. As an academic and highly ambitious person myself, I completed my Masters in Teaching at The Institute of Education and became a Senior Leader in two schools. Implementing my pedagogical knowledge and a range of successful behaviour management strategies, I became an Assistant Head Teacher of Standards in a large infant school early on in my career. My role inspired me to continue improving myself and become an Outstanding Practitioner, so that I could monitor and train teachers to be Outstanding in their practice too.
I bring with me a wealth of experience of teaching across a variety of year groups, utilising a variety of pedagogical and learning styles to make learning stimulating and exciting. Having two children myself, I understand the pressures that children face when preparing for tests and offer my empathy and guidance to ensure they feel secure and nurtured in their sessions.
I am a diligent, professional and committed individual who has high expectations of my pupils and attains excellent results for all the children I teach. I build a good rapport with all the children by forming excellent relationships with them. My lively, energetic nature makes learning fun but, at the same time, I establish healthy boundaries and expectations.
I teach and enforce positivity in my classroom, to enable children to feel secure and happy in their learning environment. I believe this in turn builds their confidence skills and leads to excellent progress from their starting points.
I enjoy environments where I can challenge and extend children and I find the experience of preparing children for their 11+ exams very rewarding. I thrive on bringing the best out of these dedicated and self-motivated children, who I tend to find are extremley keen to learn! What I enjoy most is their inquisitive and driven natures. I also enjoy the positive relationships I am able to develop with parents who are prepared to invest in and have great aspirations for their child's education.
